Antique Victorian 1.26ct Diamond Platinum Ring
Antique Victorian 1.26ct Diamond Platinum Ring
Beautiful antique Victorian platinum ring, set with 5 old mine cut diamonds in a half hoop style. Graduating in size from the centre, the diamonds are claw set in platinum, totalling 1.26ct.
The old mine cut diamonds are commonly found in Georgian and Victorian jewellery, from an era that pre-dates the modern machinery used to precision cut diamonds today. They were cut & polished by hand to sparkle in candle light, characterised by their cushion-like shape, high crown, and large facets. The method of hand cutting these old diamonds means no two diamonds are alike, making each one unique.
This versatile ring would make a gorgeous choice for an engagement ring or eternity ring.
