Antique Silver Bull Brooch

Antique silver brooch depicting a fine looking bull. The quality is outstanding, he has fantastic detail, with a rosette on his shoulder. I wonder if this brooch was given as a prize to the owner for winning best bull in show?

The brooch is marked on the back by S Blanckensee & Son Ltd. It bears the bee emblem hallmark for Lionel Blanckensee (1853-1933) who was the son of the founder, Solomon Blanckensee (1801-1874).

The brooch fastens securely in its 'C' clasp.
