Antique Georgian Diamond & Topaz 18ct Gold Ring
Antique Georgian Diamond & Topaz 18ct Gold Ring
If you are a collector of antique jewellery and are looking for a bold statement piece, then this spectacular antique 19th century Georgian ring will not disappoint.
The old cut topaz is stunning, it has a deep golden honey colour with excellent clarity. It is set in a crimped open backed setting in 18ct yellow gold, surrounded by 14 old mine cut diamonds.
The diamonds are each encased in silver crimped setting with a closed 18ct gold back. Each diamond has been hand cut and therefore each one differs from the next, they are not uniform and there are some colour variations which adds to the authenticity and charm.
The ring has trifurcated shoulders and the band has a partially engraved shank.
Topaz: 2.08ct, 8.90 x 8.75 x 3.90mm, set in 18ct gold
Diamonds totalling 2.10ct:
x 2 Old Mine cut diamonds, .30ct each, colour K-L, clarity SI, 0.60ct total, set in silver
x 12 Old Mine cut mix shapes diamonds, colour K-L, clarity SI, 1.50cts total, set in silver
Ring dimensions: 28mm x 21mm
Weight: 7.9g
Size: UK Q, EU 58, USA 8.5
The ring has a fitting inside which allows the ring to sit comfortably against the finger and prevent it from moving around, it also supports the shank adjoining the ring.
Some signs of wear commensurate with age and use. One outer diamond in the 6 o'clock position has a very small chip which looks like it occured when the diamond was being set, visible through a jeweller's loupe.
* I am unable to offer a ring resizing service
The ring will be supplied in a new presentation ring box and an independent jewellery valuation report, completed by The Jewellery Valuation Service.
