Antique Georgian Mourning  Brooch 18ct Gold

Lovely example of a Georgian  mourning brooch with a central glazed rock crystal plaque enclosing perfectly plaited hair. The brooch features a decorative 18ct yellow gold floral chased design depicting forget-me-not flowers. 

The brooch fastens with a gold 'c' clasp and is in full working order.

The rear of the brooch is 18ct rose gold, and bears the engraving;

Hallmark: No marks, tests as 18ct Gold

The brooch is in great condition, only a tiny amount of surface wear to the glazed panel, visible only on close inspection.
