Antique Marius Hammer Silver Enamel Norwegian Necklace

Beautiful and elegant antique silver necklace crafted by Marius Hammer (1847–1927).

Marius was a master goldsmith and silversmith from Bergen, Norway, becoming a central figure in Scandinavian jewellery history. He is best known for his pioneering work in enamelware and for helping define the 'Norwegian style' during the late 19th and early 20th century.

This necklace is circa 1900, decorated with a scroll silver wire design and beautiful pale green enamel, with a later addition pale blue-green enamelled dropper. 

The necklace fastens securely with a barrel clasp, typical for the era.
