Antique Edwardian Ruby 15ct Gold Drop Earrings

Beautiful antique drop earrings from the Edwardian era, circa 1905. They are each set with a single cushion cut ruby in a 15ct yellow gold star setting,  suspended from connector bars. 

Star: 11mm diameter 

Drop: 35mm

Hallmark: '15CT'

Weight: 1.7g combined 

The earrings are both marked 15ct on the rear of the star, and are suitable for pierced ears only.

The depiction of celestial stars and crescents have been popular jewellery motifs since the 17th century.

The reign of King Edward VII from 1901-1910 signalled the Edwardian era, a time of glamour courtesy of Queen Alexandra and her adoration of celestial jewellery.
