Antique 0.72ct Old European Cut Diamond 18ct Gold Ring

Beautiful unisex antique diamond solitaire ring with a buttercup setting, circa late Victorian/early Edwardian.

The old European cut diamond is very bright & sparkling, there are some small carbon spots visible on close inspection, they do not detract from the beauty of this diamond.

Old European cut diamonds were cut and polished by hand to sparkle under candle light. The method of hand cutting these old diamonds means no two diamonds are alike, making each one unique. 

The buttercup setting allows light to illuminate the diamond from all angles. The diamond is secure, all claws are intact. The shoulders are decorated with a simple elegant engraved line design.
