Antique Georgian Mourning Brooch 18ct Gold

Lovely example of a Georgian  mourning brooch with a central glazed rock crystal plaque enclosing perfectly plaited hair. The brooch features a decorative 18ct yellow gold foliate chased design.

The brooch fastens with a gold 'c' clasp and is in full working order although there is some movement of the pin left to right when the pin is open.

The rear of the brooch is 18ct rose gold, and bears the engraving;

Hallmark: No marks, tests as 18ct Gold

The brooch is in great condition, only a tiny amount of surface wear to the glazed panel, visible only on close inspection.
