Antique 1902 Edwardian 15ct Gold Cameo Brooch

Beautifully carved antique Edwardian  oval cameo, mounted in a 15ct gold brooch setting, fully hallmarked for 1902.

The cameo depicts Hebe and the Eagle, the intricate carving is beautifully detailed throughout. It is intact, free from any stress lines or cracks. 

The brooch has an additional gold safety chain for added security. The pin is base metal and securely fastens within the 'C' clasp. 

Hebe is the Greek Goddess of youth & cupbearer of the gods, the daughter of Zeus & Hera. In this scene we see Hebe feeding nectar to her father Zeus, who is in the guise of an eagle.

Hallmark: '15. 625' for 15ct gold, located to outer brooch gold setting. Maker's mark 'S&F', '15 625', assay Birmingham, date letter 'C' for 1902, located to the rear inside of the gold mount
